ANSONIA-Seniors can get flu shots, have their blood screened, get their mouths checked and even have a free lunch.

All this can be accomplished at the annual Senior Health Fair which will place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Warsaw Park, 119 Pulaski Highway.

State Sen. George Logan, R-Ansonia, is carrying on the tradition started by his predecessor former State Sen. Joseph Crisco. It is open and free for any senior from the 17th State Senatorial district which includes Ansonia, Beacon Falls, Bethany, Derby, Hamden, Naugatuck and Woodbridge.

Ansonia and Derby residents who need transportation should call the Valley Transit District 203-735-6408.

The Naugatuck Valley Health District will provide flu shots and Genesis Health Care will screen blood pressure, both at no cost. Griffin Hospital will provide information on breast care wellness and TEAM, Inc. will have information on Meals on Wheels and caregiving services.

Representatives from several state departments, divisions, agencies and offices including Banking, Consumer Protection, Mental Health and Addiction Services and the the Attorney General’s office will be available to answer questions.
